Find out about the timeline

The extension is finished.

Just over four years since the original Gift Day on 1 March 2003, the extension has been completed.  The final work to install the BioDigester foul drain system was finished in April 2007.

The extension is accessed through a door from the west end of the north aisle and provides a toilet and a tea-point.  Also included is a new wall mounted boiler which will be much more reliable and efficient than the old boiler.

The Extension Project - the culmination of

5 years of effort!

This is a major achievement and marks another stage in the evolution of St Mary’s Church in Denby as illustrated by the timeline.

We now have the facilities that will make the Church more comfortable for everyone attending St Mary’s for regular services, baptisms, weddings and funerals. The extension means that the Church will comply with the Disability Discrimination Act for toilet facilities.  With no steps between the car park and the nave, the Church is very accessible for wheelchair users and parents with push chairs.

This extension will take the Church forward, and is a significant development in the long history of the St Mary’s.  Our thanks must go to everyone who has continued fund-raising and we appreciate the hard work and effort that has been put into this.  We must also thank everyone for their personal donations without which, the project would not have been possible.

The task of raising funds is almost at an end - with about £900 still required to be able to pay the remaining invoices and the final payment to the builder which will become due later this year.

If you would like to donate to this project, please send an email to us.
