The Parish Registers The parish registers go back to 1577 and are held in the Derbyshire County Record Office at Matlock. The Derbyshire Record Office holds historic parish registers for all parishes in Derbyshire, including baptisms, marriages and burials. The dates covered by the registers can be viewed on the Records Office website. The burial records held at church date back to 1919. The church is open every fourth Saturday each month (from March until October) from 10.00 am until 12.00 noon when the records can be inspected. Garden of Remembrance The Garden of Remembrance at St Mary’s was consecrated in the 1970s. A Book of Remembrance is maintained and is permanently on display in the south aisle of the Church. The Book of Remembrance contains names of all those whose ashes have been interred in the garden.
